Questions
Is it online or in person?
Both, you pick. The ONLINE COURSE is learn-from-home on your phone or computer, with a 1-hour one-on-one video call with Happy Still, and you never have to travel. IN PERSON is a hands-on class at Fort Wilkins in Pittsfield, NH, and it includes the full online course too. Same price either way.
Do I have to travel to New Hampshire?
No. If you choose the online course, everything happens from home, including your video call with Happy Still. Only the in-person class is at Fort Wilkins.
Who is Happy Still Moonshine?
A real Southern moonshiner and the instructor for this course. He teaches every lesson and does your one-on-one consultation himself.
How does the 1-hour video call work?
After you buy, log in and pick an open time from your account (7 days a week, noon to 8 PM Eastern). It's a video call with Happy Still at the time you pick. We send you the link. It's 60 minutes, one-on-one, ask him anything. You get a reminder text the day before.
Gift card or mini still: which should I pick?
Premium comes with one of the two. The $250 gift card works on anything at www.moonshinestill.com (one-time code, never expires). The 3-gallon copper mini still (no thumper) is the still we recommend for learning. You choose from your account after you buy, or at the end of an in-person class.
Can I get the mini still shipped?
Yes. Pick it up free at Fort Wilkins on Route 28 in Pittsfield, NH, or have it shipped for $75. We text you a link to pay shipping.
How long do I have access?
For life. Every lesson is open from day one, and new lessons are added for free.
Where is the in-person class?
Fort Wilkins: Fort Wilkins, 1009 Upper City Road, Pittsfield, NH 03263 (on Route 28). It's a hands-on class with Happy Still. Not required, since the online course works from anywhere.
What if I need to cancel an in-person class?
Cancel 7 or more days before class: Basic gets a full refund, Premium gets the $250 course half back and keeps the gift card or still. Less than 7 days or a no-show: no refund, but your online access stays. If Happy Still cancels, you can move dates, switch to online, or get a full refund.
Do I need to be 21?
Yes. 21+ only. Bring photo ID to any in-person class.
Is it legal to distill at home?
The course covers the law, permits and safety in plain English. In class we distill for demonstration only and discard it.
